Change The Amount Of Tower Tonic You Use With The Seasons!

Updated: Jun 18

In this post, I will outline how to determine the appropriate amount of Tower Tonic to use based on the seasons.

"Less is often more!"

How much Tower Tonic Should I Use In ______?

• COOLER GROWING PERIODS: (Temperatures less than 80F): 20 mls each of A & B solution per gallon of water during cooler growing periods

• HOT GROWING PERIODS: (Temperatures in the 80s) - 10 mls each of A & B solution per gallon of water. (NOTE: Don’t be concerned if the plants are getting enough nutrition; they are, as the increased water consumption increases the mineral consumption).

(NOTE ABOUT SEEDLINGS: Feed seedlings 1/2 strength nutrients for their first feed, no matter the weather. After that, when you need to refill, use full, 1/2, or 1/4, depending on the season. New seedlings don’t need much nutrition, as the seed provides a lot. )

• EXTREMELY HOT GROWING PERIODS: (Temps in the 90s)—In extreme heat, like Florida summers, we recommend 5 mls each of the A and B solutions per gallon of water.

• FLUSH RESERVOIR: - During extreme heat periods, it can also be beneficial to flush the Tower Garden reservoir every month or two to prevent mineral buildup and wilting.

• WILTING: If your Tower Garden is wilting in the summer heat, it is usually because your minerals are too strong, probably full strength at 20 mls each of A & B solution per gallon of water. Plants sweat just like people to stay cool, and that’s called transpiration. As plants sweat, they take up minerals, and when the minerals are too concentrated, they cause plants to wilt, especially in the afternoon heat.

• POWER OUTAGE: In the event of a power outage or similar event that causes the Tower Garden to wilt severely, you can plug the Tower Garden directly into the outlet for a couple of hours and then switch back to the timer on outdoor settings. Aeroponic/hydroponic plants require a weaker mineral solution during hotter periods.

IMPORTANT: In the case of hydroponic/Aeroponic nutrient solutions, MORE than recommended fertilizer is NOT BETTER!
