As of July 1, 2025, Step Up for Students is allowing fruit trees in 7 gallon or smaller containers to be reimbursed for your child's educational garden!
Grape vines, blackberries, and other fruiting plants that are not trees should follow the 1 gallon rule (in pots less than one gallon).

Let's be fruitful & "pear" our fruit trees
with a lesson plan!

WellSpring Garden - small fruit trees, berries, & grapes!
My recommendation for fast fruits for
impatient little growers!

No stress submissions!
Submit your receipt in the EMA:
Instructional Materials
➡️ Elective Supplies
➡️ Garden Supplies
➡️ Plants in pots 1 gallons or less
Don't worry! Even if your tree is in a pot 7 gallons or less, this is the right category to submit under. The reason why? The 7 gallon rule was created late in the year.
Upload the receipt and a photo of your tree, clearly showing that it is in a pot that is 7 gallons or less. Use this wording: "Fruit tree for my child's garden".

Thanks for the shoutout, Leah! Solid advice on submitting reimbursements!
