Tower Garden Growing: Spring & Fall Gardening in Florida

Updated: Feb 19

If you feel lost this year about what spring and fall crops to plant or want to expand your already established list of options, you'll love my list of heat-tolerant varieties to grow in the Tower Garden. This list is a suitable guide for Tower Garden growing throughout ALL zones of Florida.

Remember: the Tower Garden keeps the plant's roots cooler, so you have wiggle room with what you can plant and when!

This list is appropriate for north, central, and south Florida.

🛑STOP! First, download the Planning Sheets & the Seasonal Planting Guide here!

Your TG comes with a variety of starter seeds (arugula, gourmet lettuce, basil, rainbow chard, kale, bibb lettuce). You’ll want to customize what you want to grow!

My List

TOMATOES

Witham's tomato collection

PEPPERS

Whitwham's sweet peppers collection

CUCUMBERS

(If you are growing your Tower Garden in a spot where you don't have pollinators, then choose a 'greenhouse parthenocarpic cucumber,' like:)

SQUASH

SPINACH

  • Kolibri (Spinach loves cold temperatures and can be planted from October through late February. I recommend this spinach as the best 'all weather' spinach I have grown. It is the least likely to bolt in the heat.)

CELERY

BEANS AND PEAS (NOTE: I plant beans in spring and fall and peas in winter)

LETTUCE

GOOSEBERRIES

BROCCOLI

GREENS

HERBS

MELONS

EGGPLANT

FLOWERS (for attracting pollinators and preventing pests)

What should I plant in the baby greens sections? Click HERE for more information about that.

Happy planting!
